How stamp duty works in SA
South Australia's duty climbs through bands to 5.5% on the part of the price above $500,000. The same rates apply to owner-occupiers and investors. Foreign buyers pay an extra 7% surcharge on residential property, on top of normal duty.
First home buyers in SA
First home buyers pay no duty on a new home, off-the-plan home or vacant land to build on, with no price cap. There's no concession for buying an established home.
