Privacy Policy

The short version

SmartCents calculators run entirely in your browser. I don't collect your salary, mortgage details, or any other calculator inputs. I don't require signup and I don't sell data. The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send through the contact form.

What I do collect

I use privacy-friendly analytics to understand what pages get used. It is cookieless and does not identify individuals. It records:

• The page you visited (e.g. /pay-calculator)
• Your general country (from IP - not stored)
• Your device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Your browser (Chrome, Safari etc.)
• The site that referred you (if any)

It does not collect: your IP address, your name, your calculator inputs, any personal data, or any information across other sites.

The contact form

If you send me a message through the contact form, I receive:

• Your message, and your name and email address if you choose to include them
• Your IP address and the country it's from, which I use only to spot and block spam

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're a person rather than a bot. It runs only on the contact page and looks at signals from your browser; it doesn't use cookies to track you.

The message is delivered to my email inbox by Resend, an email delivery service, and kept there so I can reply. I don't add you to any mailing list. Ask me and I'll delete your messages.

Local storage on your device

Some calculators (Savings Goals, Budget Preferences) and your chosen tax year are saved to your browser's local storage so they're there next time you visit. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not sent to me or anyone else
• Can be cleared by clearing your browser data

Cookies

I don't set any cookies. The analytics is cookieless.

Third-party services

• Cloudflare hosts the site and provides the privacy-friendly analytics described above. Network-level data (such as IP addresses) is used for routing and security.
• Resend delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks contact form messages come from a person, not a bot.

Your rights

The only personal information I may hold is contact form messages. You can ask to see, correct or delete them by emailing me. If I ever collect anything else (for example accounts), I'll update this policy first.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy I'll update the date at the top and note the change.
